How can Pilates benefit you?
Pilates offers the ultimate mind and body workout. It focuses both on strengthening weak muscles and stretching tight areas. Osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today. It can be beneficial for just about everyone, regardless of age and fitness level.
Pilates promotes good posture and can change the way you look, feel and move. It can re-shape, re-balance and realign the body, making it longer, leaner and more supple. It is suitable for elite athletes and exercise novices alike and is beneficial to any age group.

Sarah Wilson - Pilates Penistone
Sarah will be holding the following Pilates classes here at the Centre:
Wednesday's - PiFlow
Friday's - Mindful Pilates
Sarah says a little bit about herself and her classes as follows:
"Exercise has always played a massive part in my life, so when I was diagnosed with a health condition seven years ago, that prevented participation in many sports I had a massive void in my life. I was determined that I would find a way to move again.
I initially started Pilates to help manage pain and I was amazed at how quickly I gained results . Within a year of a regular Pilates practice I was almost pain free and I had never felt better. I loved the mind and body connection that it gave to me and having experienced the health benefits I wanted to share it with everyone.
I left my career of 25 years and completed my Teaching Mat Pilates Diploma in 2016. In my teaching I draw on elements of strength work from my previous activities and combine it with mindful movement and body awareness.
My clients are my inspiration and motivation and my aim is to share my love and passion of Pilates with clients at Holistic Wellbeing."
A flowing sequence of traditional Pilates postures utilising bodyweight exercises with movement and breath. The class works on similar principles to Vinyasa Flow in Yoga. A full mind and body workout that will help to improve muscular strength, core stability and coordination, promoting body awareness and harmony. The class is aimed at those with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy a more challenging workout. In particular the class would be of benefit to clients who practice Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga, as well as runners and cyclists who are wanting to strengthen the muscles of the core, upper body and legs to improve performance.
In this class we slow everything down using classic Pilates exercises combined with relaxation and breathing techniques to create a focused and mindful moving meditation. The postural muscles of the body are gently strengthened to improve alignment, the joints are mobilised and we work on connecting the mind and body to create awareness and harmony from within. This class is aimed at those who enjoy a more gentle form of exercise or those who may have restrictions in mobility or other limiting health conditions.
Sarah looks forward to welcoming you to her classes...
